Well it's a wet soggy bank holiday Tuesday here.... supposed to be playing in the street in honour of her Mag. but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, so one more tune...
This one's called "Plethen Newlyn" or "The Newlyn Fisherman's Reel", not much information on the net about this one as it's a very rare thing - a tune that's both genuinely Cornish, and genuinely old, and only played in the very far west of these Isles... the idea seems to be to start off glacially slow and then work it up till no one can keep up anymore! Anyway it's a pretty unusual tune, so lets see if I can spead it's net a little wider:
