Here's a tune I learned for the Taterbugmando Group "Tune Of The Month." It's from The Old-Time Fiddler's Repertory: 245 Traditional Tunes book by R. P. Christeson. I really enjoyed learning this tune even though my version is a simple attempt at it. There were some really great versions that were submitted and I pushed myself to learn this great tune and I'm satisfied with the end result. Hope you enjoy it. R. P. Christeson began playing the fiddle as a boy in Dixon, Missouri. He started collecting commercial recordings of fiddle music in 1933 and started making live field recordings in 1947. Always in search of the least-altered version of a fiddle tune, Christeson traveled the country to attend fiddlers’ contests and visited individual fiddlers to record their music. This book was born out of his belief that the traditional folk arts of the American people should be preserved and documented while they still may be.
Nice performance. I like that bluesy style of playing.
Very cool, John. I've got to learn that one. Where is this tatterbug site?
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you liked it! Marcelyn, I sent you an email regarding Taterbugmando group.
