The San Francisco Mandolin Orchestra is a plucked string orchestra with 20-25 members, formed in 2005. The orchestra features instruments of the mandolin family (mandolin, mandola and mandocello) with guitar, double bass, and harp. We rehearse in San Francisco on a Sunday afternoon. Our repertoire is seasonal and usually arranged especially for our musical combination. Past seasons have included themes such as: Late Romantic Italian, Russian, Classical, and Baroque, Renaissance and Contemporary music.
