Is there anything better than a weekend stay at Ghost Ranch? Yes!--a few days more than a weekend of bluegrass music at Ghost Ranch! Fine-tune your ensemble playing and harmony singing while you enjoy the magnificent scenery. During your stay you will sharpen your skills on your instrument, make new friends and get a bluegrass band together and perform for the other campers, all in a low-stress, high-fun environment. Learn the basics of bluegrass on six
instruments, along with ensemble playing, lead and harmony singing, performance and songwriting. All the instruction, practicing and jamming will culminate in a bluegrass band gala performance Saturday evening.

Keeping Fire in concert at the Fret House in Covina, CA

Keeping Fire
Based in the San Gabriel Valley, Keeping Fire is a band that plays acoustic music ranging from bluegrass to newgrass, gospel, and new folk, including a wide variety of original songs. Keeping Fire consists of five veteran musicians all of whom have been actively involved in the Southern California music scene since the 1960s and 70s. The members of the band are: Donn Cunningham on guitar, Fred Heilbrun on banjo, Jarrett Lesko on resonator guitar, Steve Wilke on mandolin and tenor guitar, and Ron Vance on upright bass. They look forward to seeing you at the Fret House.
Women on the Move Trio
Singer/Songwriters Joan Enguita, Linda Geleris and Trish Lester form the award-winning trio, Women on the Move. Their high-energy folk/pop songs sparkle with angelic harmonies, womanly wisdom and touches of humor. They don't just play music, they thoroughly enjoy entertaining their audiences with guitar, percussion, dulcimer, mandolin, and a fair measure of witty banter. This Southern California group has toured in the central coast area of California, Oregon, twice in Arizona, and won First Prize in the vocal competition at this years' Topanga Banjo/Fiddle Contest and Folk Festival.

I have been in touch with Hibdon Hardwood and The second Annual " Gateway Area Luthiers Assembly & Show " Is scheduled for May 19th 2012 at Hibdon Hardwood in St. Louis MO.

Bluegrass Breakfast in Phillipsburg, NJ
As a benefit for Warren County special services there will be a bluegrass breakfast at the Perkins Restaurant on rt 22 in Phillipsburg, NJ from 8:30 to 12:30
Last Small Town starts things off at 8:30 with music going until 12:30.
Part of the proceeds from all food sold will go the the Warren County special services which benefits children with special needs.
Don Julin Beginner's Workshop at Elderly Instruments

This workshop will focus on swing chords and common progressions used in swing and jazz along with tips on how to make a melody swing or how to embellish a melody in the swing/jazz style.
