After looking in internet for photos and info on Vinacia mandolins from around 1900 still I have doubts trying to assess a Vinaccia mandolin. It is a Vinaccia 19 rosewood ribs mandolin with a label signed by Carlo Munier. I didn't know about Carlo Munier as luthier.... It has 2 dates on sides of the label 1900 and on another side 1896. The top has a stable longitudinal crack and the instrument has its own original wooden case... the bridge is ornamented as french bridges I have seen from other mandolins from this age...This mandolin was offered to me to buy this week in an antiques shop in Chile so I would like to know what would be a fair price to offer for it. Any comment will be welcome.

Well, Munier was the nephew of Pasquale Vinaccia so there definitely is a connection there. As to the value of that mandolin, hard to say. Can you post any photos?
