FYI - found a "one-year-old-new" A-9 at the Guitar Center on Van Ness in downtown San Francisco. Serial #40211020. Price tag says $897 and no case.
Fellow says it's been in their case one year, so it's discounted. Didn't ask for his "best" deal, since I have scroll-envy and am hunting the F-9.
Played it for about 25 minutes...good sound all the way up the fingerboard, excellent condition, no nicks or dings, tuners work fine.

No $$$$ connection, just thought it may be a good deal for someone.
