Fender Fm62se

what strings should i use on my fender fm62se gauge wise? i started with j74's, not ive got light elixers ,which seem a little over-bright for my tastes. i was thinking on exp74's?
how do they compare with j74's tonewise. and does anyone else make flatwouds besideds thomastik?
