Hey Folks,
I'm looking into purchasing a guitar, and was wondering if there's a similar site for guitars as there is the mandolincafe. Someplace with classifieds?

Thanks,
Dave

That's the unoffical Martin forum. Surely you don't want anything but a Martin anyway? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Hey Jiffyfeet. Exactly, though I'm in sort of a dilemma in that I only have about $850 to spend. I've been looking at the Martin D16RGT for about that price.

The Unofficial Martin site is great. There is also a good one at http://www.taylorforum.com/ with a classified section. I posted a Taylor I had for sale there and ended up swaping for a Martin HD-28v. I'm excited! # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

$850 can get you a really nice Martin. Especially if you're willing to buy used. Even new though, there's nothing wrong with the 16 series.

You could try The 13th Fret (http://www.13thfret.com/cgi-bin/futureforum.cgi)
A lot of builders and gearheads hang out there. They have a link to a classified section. Never bought anything through there, but the people who post seem pretty straight and honest. Good luck

Acoustic Guitar Magazine (http://www.acousticguitar.com/ubbcgi/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Gear&number=1&DaysPrune=10&LastLogin=) has one of the best forums. World class luthiers and players hang out there, and they are not uppity, like some can be.
