A beauty, but very overpriced. I recently saw one of these go in perfect condition for around $1200. Bernunzio.com had one up on its web page for a long time, it may be there, and they had reduced the price.

I've seen (over)prices for U.S. made mandolins on several UK music store websites, which make me guess that this is more of a rule than an exception.

hey, that's about an average price for a dec ent mandolin over here, you get a Gibson F9 for $1600 we have to pay £1900 I'll leave it to the maths experts to work out the exchange rates, it's far too early in the morning for me http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

$1600 was only the Guitar Center clearance price; MSRP is $3400. You can get a used F-9 on Ebay perhaps for under two grand.

Ah, that explains it, makes £1900 about right then
Keith.
I've seen a few AK's, all in the US under 1200.00. There was a beautiful Martin BK in the classifieds recently that sold for 950.00.
Mass St has one for under a grand, Bernunzio has one for around that, too. None has quite the flame of the one on Ebay, though. I think, judging from the prices I've seen from the UK that the price is probably about right for that one. It sure looks minty.
Hey, who got the Martin BK from the classifieds, and could you post a few pics? Thanks in advance!
