Michael thats right it was your F9 with the ebony tuners and not Flip's.I like them alot but I have reservations about the buttons cracking. Lp

I have put hundreds of Ebony buttons on Schaller tuners, and never had a single problem. #If they don't split when you put them on they are never going to split. #Don't worry about it.

I've purchased two sets of Schaller tuners with ebony buttons from Peter Coombe. The sets are on my two Morris mandolins -- an F4 and an F5. They look good, feel good, and have held up great.

I would also add that dealing with Peter was very pleasant, the tuners arrived much quicker than I thought they would, and the shipping cost (from Down Under to NY) was nominal (just a few dollars). In fact, I got my tuners from Australia faster than I receive some orders from certain highly regarded (and properly so) US retailers. <g> Highly recommended.
