Does anybody know of anyone that will do me right on a setup in South Carolina?

Try Billy Chapman (Chapman Stringed Instruments) in Columbia. I think he has a web site something like www.chapmanstringedinstruments.com He makes some amazing semi-hollow electric mandos, worth checking out while you're there.

I'm down in Myrtle Beach, so I guess Columbia sounds the closest.

You might check with Jennings Chestnut in Conway--since he builds mandolins, I guess he does setup work too. The other thing you might check is to call at Carolina Opry and ask for for Jimmy Edmonds. He does some repair work, and if doesn't want to do the set up, he will know someone who does since they have to keep all those instruments at the Opry in good shape.

Think about coming to RenoFest in Hartsville SC the 4th weekend in March. Luthiers Wayne Henderson and Gerald Anderson will be there--they won't be doing any set up work, but they may have something cool to show off!

Go to the web site for Blueridge and get Alan Bibiys, number or e-mail him. He is a great guy and an amazing mandolin player. I'm sure he knows someone who does sset up in your area.
