I goofed up the topic it is actually an octave mandola/cittern 20.379 scale.
Well I strung it up, five courses tuned gdaea. I made the bridge as wide as I could but it still seems tight. For any who have played the five course instruments do you find the course to course spacings to be closer then a traditional four course instrument. I also made my lowest G pair about 3.5/32 apart at the nut and 5 at the bridge. If I really hit them hard they buzz together. I never play that hard, maybe I'm just to knew at playing, but if you have any comments on these issues please respond. There doesn't seem to be a lot of five course experience around. Thanks John
Oh things seem kind of tight at the nut as well but at the moment I'm blaming it on an extremely high action which I am currently remedying. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
