Time to replace the old tailpiece. Anyone know where I can get one of the above?

At the risk of seeming flip, how about contacting Steve Gilchrist?

I'm not sure if Steve is marketing these w/o Gilchrist engraved on them........there was some talk of that a few years ago, but as far as I know only a few were sold. I was lucky enough to buy the review sample from Ken Cartwright, when he reviewed it for Mandolin Magazine. I know you can buy one from Steve to retrofit an older Gil, from the pre hinged tailpiece era. I did that once. I love these tailpieces, I think Steve could probably sell quite a few, and there may be plans in the works to make them available......

Was the Bill James tailpiece the CNC machined one that one of the builders (maybe Ludwig) had made? #Seems like the design was similar. #Scotti.....that tailpiece looks oversized on your mando. #Is that the camera angle or is it (the tailpiece) that big. #All you pervs keep your comments to yourself! #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
