Help. I am living in the remote woods and need a group to play with, I am hoping that someone can recommend a good CD to accompany my lead playing. I presently am in the process of wearing out Bert Casey's instructional CD. What could be recommended to fill my hours here alone, in the dark, for the winter, that is socially acceptable, as a source of rhythm to back up my melody?

Try Dix Bruce's Back up Trax....he has them for old time & fiddle tunes....swing & jazz, there are others.
I like Grisman's Dawg Tracks too, his band playing the melody then several times thru the rhythm to practice
the melody or improvise over the chords to Dawg tunes.

A vote for Band in a Box (pgmusic.com), especially if you want to learn jazz.

Wow--Just What I was looking for!! Thanks for the quick response.
I'd also check out http://www.cvls.com/guitarlessons.html They have some cool backing tracks and I'd check into Jam Traxx if you wanted to jump off into blues, rock or jazz.
