I'm not sure if this has started already but for five plus years I've looked at the Mandolin Cafe classifies too frequently. It's been a source of lust, poor decisions, great finds and general financial mayhem. Well it looks like my biggest temptation has a new look. Thanks Scott, you've improved the best classifieds on the web and now I'll be buying and selling even more. :)):))

Indeed, the new layout for the Classifieds is fantastic.
The best site on the web just keeps getting better.

Here's an example of multi-image layout (http://www.mandolincafe.com/ads/56780) using the Classifieds. We have four there just for testing. Haven't decided the final number of images to allow. Only problem is we (Dan, really) still have to build the multi-image upload, edit, delete functions and what happens to those images when the ad is removed, etc., etc. Click on those individual images to get the idea.
While this will be a very welcome and nice addition, the real strength of the Classifieds is we've developed our own multiple custom hidden/not advertised layers of protection that keep the spam and fraud crowd out based on about 15 years of experience of us running these. Even forums that claim to have a Classifieds (they aren't really, just a forum with a section called by that name) can't beat us at this game. If you receive a reply, you have the right to be confident you're not dealing with someone whose intent it is to rob you. That we can deliver. Doesn't mean a deal might not go sour once in awhile but even those are almost always resolved behind the scenes.

Now if you could figure out a way to get people to list their items in the proper category :-)
Great improvement!!

Very professional looking. I remember when the classifieds was expanded to allow non-mandolin related items and that was huge, this is great!

Looks really good, although I would appreciate a banner reading:
"Remember: you already have a perfectly good mandolin."

I have to date bought three mandolins via the internet. Two from ebay and one from the classifieds. The one from the classifieds has become my #1 instrument and is an absolute life time find and has every reason to become a life long love. The experience was fantastic, could not have been better if I was dealing with someone I met in person at the club.
The classifieds here are a potentially life enhancing resource.
And now its even better.

Terrific Classifieds update. I read them daily just to torture myself.
The video tutorial was also a neat idea.
You dah man, Scott.

When I click on the links, I get a "server error" message. How do I get the new classifieds?

We're having some issues still with server errors. Working on it currently.

It's a very good thing that I am all done accumulating mandolins. I am thinking about accumulating ball caps, though...

My experience exactly. No way that I could have the great instruments (that I'm lucky to have) if there were no Mandolin Cafe. Thanks again Scott!

Super! Finally, an "improvement" that's a real improvement.... unlike timeline on Facebook. :)
I think I've squashed the server error bugs we were seeing. I continue to be amazed at how much traffic runs through here!

I recently worked (professionally) with a fellow that owns runs maintains and cleans up after an internet business. I know you guys work hard making it look like it runs itself, but its amazing really how much work goes into it. Software improvements and bug fixes that you don't know about till a customer finds them, all the gabillion door knob checkers skulking around every corner that you have to fend off with a stick. This fellow built a site for my company, with secure data storage and all kinds of company thingies. Just an amazing amount of work.
This guy probably single handedly supports three Costa Rican villages with the amount of coffee that went into the project. Turning caffein into code, thats what he says he does.
Amazing, and thank you for all of your underappreciated efforts.
