I need help identifying this mandolin. It is an Alvarez obtained from the original owner that says he bought it in 1976. It does not have a label on the inside but has "MADE BY ALVEREZ" stamped inside the treble F hole. No serial numbers or Made in Japan stamped either. I would like to know the model and what type of wood it is. Any help is appreciated.

Search for my response to the post you made on Dec 17 asking the same question. (Searching on your user name is probably the easiest way.)

I saw, and appreciate, your response but wanted to post this in another forum to see if I could get more info. The truss rod cover only has two screws so from your post I can determine that it is a Japanese model. Would you say it is an A700? I would also like to know what type of wood it is made of and current value.....THanks.

Anyway you could email me the catalog add that you sent on your posting (smyrnagc@bellsouth.net)? It's not very legible.
THanks
