I asked one time before about a Gibson web site that you can enter in the serial number and model of your mandolin and it will spit out the manufacturer's date of the instrument.
I was given the link and forwarded it to an elderly freind of mine, but it was only for guitars. is there a mandolin one too ?

Charlie Derrington is a member here and pretty much he is Gibson. You could leave your serial # here or PM him with it. He is very quick to respond.

if you do find that site, i wish you'd post it here....
i'd like to see it too....the one linked above is not it....
that site can get you in the ballpark but you can't type in your serial number and get back a date....i'd like that site too....anyone?
