Has any one else seen the Citi Bank commercial with the guy playing a mandolin and a lady playing an autoharp? What is the deal with this commercial? Someone out there has to know who that is. He is playing what seems to be a decent F5 mando. I'm not sure what tune they are playing either?

Does anyone have any background or know the guy playing?

I met this couple at IBMA in Louisville back in October. I can't remember their names. He really liked to jam and was playing night and day all week long. I think that he is and was playing a Fletcher Brock mandolin.

I've seen hundreds of those guys at festivals. In fact, I think I am one other guys -- 'cept my wife doesn't play autoharp.

Anyone know who he is? I liked the commercial, pretty decent picker.

I thought the advertisement was charming and sweet. My wife did also, but did it make her want to pick up an instrument and play along with me? Not a chance! Nevertheless, I think I'll keep her. It's her birthday today. Maybe I ought to just buy her an autoharp anyway.

Huh thanks Mike that is interesting, I could tell he was at least somewhat serious about playing because he had a intelitouch tuner on during the comercial. And that is sure sign of someone who is at laest trying :-)

An his noodling at the end sounds like he knows what he is doing.

The guy in the commercial is Mo Liebowitz-I may have spelled his last name incorrectly. He is a graphic designer from Long Island, plays a Tucker mando, plays Monroe style and is a great guy with a sense of humor. I have meet him twice at the Joe Val festival in Framingham, MA. He says about 32 million people have seen that commercial so far. Rich Michaud

Hi Rich,
I was in the Skip Gorman workshop with you and Mo at the Joe Val Festival.

His last name is spelled Lebowitz, I know because it's the same spelling as mine!

I finally saw it last night and thought of all of yall.

The theme to the commercial is great as well as the playing. "The Golden Years" of retirement and spending it with your partner.

But I'll be darned if he didn't forget the 2nd verse, but he didn't care. Nobody noticed. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

One of the commercials has him saying he missed the 2nd. I have seen several versions of the commercial cut to different time limits.
