I have personally dubbed December my doublestop awareness month. Everything (okay) almost everything I play in the month of December will be in doublestops. I'm sure this will only add another element to my playing that I really lack. Wanna hear from other board members. How they practice them, etc. There used to be a doublestop chart somewhere, either here or on Mandozine, but I have lost it.

Here's on of the doublestop exercises from Mandozine. There's quite a few of them there.

Is anyone else having problems accessing those exercises?

Works fine for me...
I wasn't able to access the site either.

You have to have TablEdit (http://www.tabledit.com/?AfID=19329) or the free TEF Viewer software to open .tef files (TablEdit files).

Thanks for all the advice on getting the exercises. I was finally able to access them and have been diligently working. It has really seemed to open up the fretboard for me. I am now playing licks and patterns that I never knew were there before. I am finally able to mix some new stuff in with my same old boring (to me) major pentatonic. Now I must actually think rather than rely on the safe major pentatonic. Fun, fun, fun!!

doublestop - would being doublestop-aware make you self-aware? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
