So I'm sorta a hack at music. #I'll likely always be average at all the instruments I play (piano, mandolin, guitar & dulcimer). #That doesn't bother me, in fact I feel pretty good about how i sound. #I just won't ever be a stage performer.
But I love to play for people! #And doing it with others is just that much better.
So a couple buddies of mine got together (2 guitarists, bass player, mando (me) and drummer on tom toms) and worked up a 25 song set mixing Christmas songs with a variety of other stuff (lots of Rock). #We then got 6 of our friends that have decent voices to be our carolers. #We've practiced 6-7 times in the last couple months and are now ready to unleash this "caroling" onto our friends.
We have obtained a big RV, designated driver & plenty of adult frosty beverages. #For the next 2 weekends, we will visit 4 private parties per evening - running through the set we've learned at each stop. #We'll blow in - quickly setup - play our stuff - then jump in the RV and off to the next stop.
There's really no presure - if we mess up - we'll just laugh about it and enjoy the experience. #I am really looking forward to the experience. #So for all you hacks like me - DESPAIR NOT! #If you get creative, you too can turn yourself into a star (if only for a night!).
