Can someone recommend a good source for the bracket part of a mandolin armrest? I didn't find it at stew-mac or lmi...
thanks in advance for info...

I get mine from Roger Siminoff. Give him a call, I am sure he can help.

Before buying any hardware check your body depth. I have purchased both violin and viola chinrest brackets. The violin brackets had a barrel length of 29mm and the viola was 33mm. The viola ones worked better for me and my 1.625 to 1.875 body height that I was working with. Also have to factor the cork pad and where the pins will fit in the s6de of the wood of your rest.

IV is a great source for a lot of great items, I have purchased a lot from them.

I second the recommendation of Dov Schmidt, especially if you're looking for the more elusive extra long barreled viola brackets, as I was.

The gold ones are particularly hard to find. I ended up finding them on Ebay several years ago, but I don't remember the name of the seller offhand.

Thanks all -- this is for an OM, so I will measure body depth carefully and investigate that before ordering.

Thanks for that Decor link Mandobart! They have gold in lengths in both styles. Nice. I just shipped a mando with gold hardware all except for the pickguard hdwr that I could only find in chrome. Next time...
