I'm thinking about buying a new mandolin "The Loar LM-600 F-Model Mandolin"
I have a Godin A8 which is surprizingly quite loud for being what it is,
so do anyone here know how "The Loar" sounds and plays, it sure looks nice but well you know I don't want to waist my time on somthing thats looks good but sounds just OK
so please let me know what you think

I think if you use the search features of this site you will find multiple comments and discussion of the The Loar mandolins.
I've played one and it was good so I believe the good reports on them. Where are you located?

There are inherent differences in carved wooden instruments.
That being said, they are great mandos and you have a high likelihood of being really happy and satisfied.

I recommend replacing the stock bridge with a Cumberland Acoustics or equivalent high end model

I'll second the bridge upgrade, but even without it the LM-600 is most likely the best sound F-style you will find at the price point. With a CA bridge, it is even better! :)

I have the 600 but I am a beginner and it is the only mandolin I have ever picked up, so I can't compare. It sounds good to me whenever I hit the correct notes correctly, which isn't as often as it should be. There is a "The Loar" social group here at the cafe that will provide a lot more good information for you if you wish to check it out.

The Loar LM600 is a substantial upgrade from the Godin that you have unless you play plugged in at high volumes a LOT. For most acoustic music styles the LM600 will be an immediate improvement. The Godin is more like an electric guitar with a short scale. I also recommend having a CA bridge installed and a pro setup. That will really make that LM600 cook! I have not seen one yet that was not very good or better. They are very consistent from instrument to instument as well.
