I saw Frank last night in Piermont NY. 20 miles N of NYC it's a real small town that juts out into the Hudson River.
Only 30 or so people showed up. I got there late at spoke with Frank for about 1/2. What a really mean man he is -A pain to talk to -and he even forgot my name at the end of the night. Being he lives about 2 1/2-3 hrs away from me in Saratoga, I will be setting up some lessons after his CA tour in Jan. It seems he's really dislikes teaching and would hate to do that more than anything. So I can't wait to visit him. I've listened to all his stuff but this was the last time I saw him. I was ceilinged. I never saw Monroe since I was early getting into bluegrass but it's easy to believe anybody is/was better than Frank. Sure Monroe had the voice and was a great song writer but Frank just seems to be getting worse and worse. Jim on fiddle and tom(i think) on guitar were bad.
It was a very funny and informal evening for sure.Jim Moss was pushing Frank to tell a story about his coat hangers but Frank said it's too embarassing. Jim said Frank wouldn't even tell it to him and he heard it thru somebody else. So he recommended asking others on the web. We were practically on the floor rolling with tears in our eyes. What a great time. Pics to follow later. If you were not aware the above was written in the style of FW.

Poorly done, Tom. I didn't go to college in Saratoga, NY, and remember never seeing Frank in the bars. He wasn't the guy who got me fired down about the mandolin. I didn't take a lesson from him one time and he didn't let me play his Loar.

That's very unfortunate Alan,
I didn't buy his learning videos 2 and 3. I had too much money at $60 each to buy all 3. Anybody -How is #1? I figured I can get that at an earlier time.

Hey All,

Now let me see if I do this right.

I saw Frank in Piermont NY (I live in Alberta) last night and I heard he was cra**y because he couldn't play the mandolin like Thile only worse. I decided I don't have $60 too much in my pocket and won't buy one of his videos unless somebody tells me how cra**y they are since I hate learning the mandolin as much as Frank hates teaching it. I hope Frank never gets any awards or fame for his ability to play cra**y mandolin.

Close?

Take Care! -Ed-
