Hey All,

Was watchin Paul Brandt's Special on CMT from CFB Wainwright Alberta featuring Paul, Aaron Lines, Jason McCoy and George Canyon. Paul has a mando player backin him named Justin Clark who was playin some really nice mando on an A style while backing the different singers. Was enjoyable to listen to - all of the singers were really good - hope some of you caught it or have an opportunity to.

I then went to his website and listened to a couple clips - really nice playing. I also noticed that he has had some really tough duty playin backup to the Shankman Twins (aka Malibu Storm - hows that for a bluegrass band name!) who studied bluegrass at UCLA if you can believe it? - the poor guy. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Aww Gee thanks there Easy Ed,
I appreciate the kind words. That special was alot of fun to film there in Wainwright, AB. We shot that the week of the "Convoy" video. Great to learn about the other gusy, Jason McCoy, Aaron Lines, And George Canyon. I was playing my 93 Flatiron Festival A style on that show with a Fishman Pick-up. I ran through my pedal board, which I hope to have up on my site before too long. It contains :Mic Simulator, and Reverb, and then out of a L R Baggs Para-Acoustic DI Box. The guys seemed to get a great sound out of it and I was very pleased.
Anyhoo, thanks for writing and I will also have to mention that Uncle Bob is playing Guitar, Bass and even Mando on one tune on my CD. So, I still have a few for sale from my site, so keep that in mind.
Anyhoo, GOD Bless, and I'll Talk at ya'll later,
Justin

I also think Justin is a top notch mando player and a good guy. He's got some great stories about playing with the Shankman's if you get the chance to talk with him.
