I picked up an inexpensive, but accurate hygrometer at Sears that is made by Holmes. It cost less than $4.00. I tested it using the salt test and it was dead on accurate. Just passing this along for those of you that live in humidity challenged areas during the winter.

Here is the link to the salt test:

Mando Johnny,
Can you provide more information on this hygrometer. Is it manual, electronic, etc.?
Thanks

The hygrometer is a simple, manual, gauge----I have two, one is off by about 6%---and I used the salt test to calibrate it. It works OK if you need an approximate gauge for knowing if you are in the dry time of the year or it is small enough to keep in your case.
