I've seen that Shue before - it's very nice. But why is it always for sale?

Hi, those mandolins are for sale at Mandolin World Headquarters (http://www.vintagemandolin.com)
The Shue is for sale because I haven't sold it yet http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Its a very good bluegrass mandolin from a locally well-known regional builder in North Carolina. Bob's mandolins don't make it very far from home - most of his sales are to local pickers, and he has all the orders he can handle.
Best regards,
Charles Johnson

Hi Charles,
It's a rather special beauty and I was very tempted by it this spring when I was seeking an instrument. Apologies, no offense meant, I just was not thinking of MWHQ as 'vintage mandolins' at that particular moment! I hope you find it a good home.

The top was cut way off quarter for sure...

Bob Shue has been building mandolins for many years. Virtually every mandolin player in central NC has owned one at one time or another. He builds "by eye" and not to any particular set of plans or measurements...and always provides a powerful bluegrass oriented sound.

Charles,
Will you have these beauties with you at the Great American Fall Philly guitar show? I'll swap a couple of TS picks for one! Look forward to seeing you and your stuff.

Old Bob...you know that Wayne Benson recorded the LiveWire album with a Shue mandolin.

Thought I'd put in a plug for Charles. I bought a teens Gibson A-1 from Vintage Instruments in Philly last year, and I couldn't be happier, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't return my call after 11:00 p.m. their time like Charles did to answer my questions and play an instrument over the phone for me. Charles got the sale this year. Hasn't been shipped yet, but maybe I'll post a brief impression when it arrives. Thanks Charles.

I played that Shue when I was at Mandolin World Headquarters. #It is a great sounding mandolin.

Well, if the Shue fits, buy it!
