Who here has a Monteleone tailpiece on their A5-L? Are they ease to restring? Thanks, dy.

they are great tailpieces..the key to easily changing strings is to slide the empty plastic string pack under the strings (between strings and tailpiece) when you change strings..that way it won't scratch mando when you pull strings out of tailpiece holes. or are putting new strings on..

I had one on my first F5 and took it off because of the care I had to take not to poke and scratch the surface. I didn't mind using the string pack cover to protect when at my leisure but if I broke a wire at a gig, I usually felt rushed and not as careful. I replaced it with a 1st generation Price tailpiece which I found to be extremely easy to use for changes. I did however like the fact that I could use ball end strings with the Monte style if I needed to.
