I will be perfroming with a pair of flutists at WOSU's "A Classical Affair" (http://www.wosu.org/vc/classical_affair_2004/), Tuttle Mall, 7 pm, 14 November. I expect to mostly be playing guitar, but will indulge in at least a little mandolin. At very least we will play a little sonata for two mandolins (or, in this case, mandolin and flute) by Barbella. If you'd like tickets, feel free to contact me via e-mail or PM. All proceeds from those I sell will go to benefit my own non-profit Columbus Guitar Society (http://www.columbusguitarsociety.org/index.htm).

I'd love to be there Eugene but time and distance is gonna make me miss. Im sure it'll be a great show. On my next trip back to the ole home place I'll try and stop by your neighborhood with some instruments of interest to share with ya. I love that one you had commisioned and built and would love to hear it live. Have fun!

Eugene:
I wish I could be there also but that is in the middle of my marathon two weekends of mandolinning, one with Carlo and one at the CMSA convention.
Any chance that your performance will be streamed?

Nope. This is a grand live fund raiser with a great many arts organizations featuring performances on something like four or five different stages, of which I will be on one for one hour. I don't believe any of it will be recorded or broadcast (and if any was, I'm guessing Opera Columbus or the Columbus Symphony Orchestra would beat out the weird guy with an old mandolin).

Check again, Eugene. I think that the popularity of the mandolin in Ohio is well under the radar of the current musical polls.
I found this outtake from the photo sessions for the babe on the station's homepage. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

You are awesome, Jim! It's likely I've just roped a second guitarist into assisting and occasionally accompanying me, adding Calace's Tarantella and Paganini's Sonata per Rovene for mandolin to the program.

Eugene:
Do you mean that the classical babe (above) also plays guitar?
