I believe that 'green' mandolin was an F-5 copy that was built some time back by Rolfe Gerhardt, who was building the Unicorn mandolins in Texas in the '70s.

It's so hard to imagine an F-5 style mandolin could sell for $199.99 and even included a hard shell case. I think I way overpayed for my F5's!

that is an amazing price (not that you dont get what you pay for) considering back when i first got scroll envy, the cheapest F style mando around was the low end Washburn and Kentucky's that were like $599. that was in the early 90's......so who says mandolin prices have skyrocketed http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif

I've seen an incredible green Monteleone. A Grande Artist Delux.
It had a side hole on the top as well as f holes.
Hey... on a Monty it looked pretty cool. John built it recently.

FOR THE RECORD:

Thanks to a certain slick sleuther, it has already been ascertained that yes...believe it or not!... #Kermit does indeed play mandolin!

YET! #That mando could NOT belong to Kermie... cuzz he's a lefty...

Rainbow Connection? #Right up there on my "all time favorites"...

I've also seen a green MK ( one of their custom job's, no doubt ). But, yes, it is difficult to believe that ANY F-style mandolin WITH a hard shell case could cost only $200.

They must be made out of cardboard by an assemble line in Biafra or something. I've always believed that "if it's too good to be true, it usually is". I would never order a deal like that on-line, sight unseen.
