I've had my standard (all stock specs) Weber Yellowstone since March of this year and I'm extremely pleased with the tone. I've compared it to many other high quality instruments ranging from $3000 to $19,000 and this mando has really held it's own. I did however notice that some of the other mando's that I tested had some physical characteristics that my Yellowstone did not. My mandolin currently has a flat fingerboard, but I've grown to prefer a radiused one instead. Is there any way that my flat fingerboard can be converted into a radiused fingerboard without having to buy a whole other mandolin? Also, the Yellowstone came with a Brekke bridge. I have lowered the bridge to what I believe is the absolute lowest it is capable of going and the action is still too high to my prefrence. I'd like a bridge that could provide me with the lowest action possible without fret buzz. Thanks for taking time to read this!

The Brekke bridges are available in several different heights, so unless you already have the shortest one you could probably get a different one. Who knows, maybe Weber could even work a trade. The available heights are listed on Greg Boyd's web site (www.gregboyd.com).

eightstrings, yes you can get the fretboard radiused by a qualified luthier without purchasing a different mandolin, some do the fingerboard all the time right on the mandolin. Ask for info on this or one of the other board's. good luck http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

On my Custom Blonde Bitterroot, as seen in the photo section on blonde mandolins, I completely took out the screws that operate the saddle the Brekke Bridge...I did notice a slight improvment in tone and volume, the string height is now perfect, for me. My point is, you do not have to have the screws even installed for it to function quite well.

Brett...I would suggest that you give Paula at Weber a call.

I'm confident that she will be able to answer your questions...they are a pleasure to deal with.
