The F has the scroll, the A is pear shaped.

You are not kidding! I thought you had been posting herer for some time.

Just check on the Mandolin Archives to see examples. And Eye Candy.

F=Florentine anf fancy

Flowerpots were used on the highest model at the time: F4s and F5s.

F4 is scroll model with oval soundhole; F5 is scroll with f-holes.

Ferns were only on later 1920s F5s.
