Hey there,
I am looking for some Eddie Vedder mandolin TABs - esp. The Rise. Does anybody have it?
Thanks in advance.

Steve, if you find one, please let us know where.
There is a pretty in-depth and detailed tutorial on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqY0M7ToUy0), but I've never found a tab posted anywhere.

Hi Ed, hi Tony,
thanks for your fast reply. Yes, I know this video on youtube - nevertheless, I prefer learning by paper, not by the www - old fashioned, you know :-D
If I won't get the tabs, I will try to do my best and watch the video again and again :-)
Greetings, Steve

No tabs, but this cafe thread (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?42142-Tab-for-quot-rise-quot-by-eddie-vedder) has lyrics and chords which might get you started.
Also, someone in this thread (http://ukulelehunt.com/2008/07/13/eddievedderrisechords/) at ukulelehunt.com said they tabbed it out for mandolin, but they didn't link it in the thread. If you can't figure it out from the chords and vid, you might try posting in that thread or reaching out to the tab author.

The way I play it, it's G and C for the first part of the verse, "Such is the way of the world", and then it goes to D and C for the "I'm Going to Rise Up" part, then repeat. Very nice song....

Edit to above: After a close listen, I realize that in the "Going to Rise Up" part, it goes from D to G and then C.....
That's the song in its most basic form, I think.... He adds nice strumming and embellishments, but that's the basic chord structure.

Hi there,
actually I am working on the TABs based on the link Ed posted a few months ago. Although, this seems to be a quite hard work, due to the song's versatility, I should be finished with it soon :-)
All the best, Steve

Steve; I'd love to see your TAB when it's done.
Thank you very much for taking the time to do this.

Hi Ed,
of course I will share it when it's finished. Nevertheless, it still will take some more time to finish it as its quite a lot of work!
