Tonight's game is likely the biggest in Red Sox history. Will the curse be exorcised??

I'm not exactly a Sox fan, but I really dislike the Yankees and I am for whoever they are playing. They have the largest payroll in baseball, and I'd love to see them lose, especially to their biggest rival.

I thought A-Rod's move last night was very classless. They are looking a little nervous, to try and pull something like that. Cheating and then doing the "What did I do" routine.

It was real hard to play an open session last night AND keep a close eye on the game:D

The Sox took it as our "Going to California" was forced into an overtime jam by a zealous, superstitous Sox fan!

GO RED SOX!!!!

Curt Schilling's outing last night was one of the gutsiest pitching performances I've ever witnessed...
That was a great game...

The beautiful thing about baseball is that you'll see things that have never happened in MLB history. #
This is the first time in baseball history that a team has lost the first 3 games to start a 7 game series, only to come back and force a game 7.
For Boston to actually win game 7 in New York would go a long way towards dismantling the curse, although it would be a shame that they wouldn't have a healthy Schilling for the Series...

It'll be a fun evening..... #

Just a little mando content...I agree "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" is fun to play and Didn't Chris Thile have baseball related titles for his first two solo albums? So the mandolin and baseball are indeed closely related...and it was fun to watch the wheels fall off the Evil Empire and watch the umps being forced to make the correct calls...hopefully there will be no more "Jeffery Mayer Incidents."

Mando content: I realized that I am in control of what happens to the Red Sox. It depends on what I'm playing on my mando or bass. My tune selection last night was good, although once or twice I picked the wrong tune (I was being too jazzy when Bernie hit his dinger). I will be warmed up and ready tonight. Go Sox!

As long as no peanuts or beer are spilled OK to continue. After all, Jethro, Sam Bush and Don Stiernberg have recorded "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". But remember, when I start my Tour de France thread next year that'll have most of you scratching your heads saying "what's that?", I'll be quick to point out this thread.

Although not a fan of any particular team, I would like to see the Sox win tonight. I hope my strange method of looking at chances/odds prevails. I always figure that "if it's never been done before" ..then chances are on your side that the streak or whatever is due to be broken.

One of his ancestors was a pro ball player I think. My CD is in the car but I am pretty sure he had a song for him on his Not All Who Wander CD. His first two CD's Leading Off and Stealing Second were baseball inspired.

Both teams must be thoroughly whipped after the series thus far. Tonight should be very interesting -- maybe too interesting. There have already been a few moments in the AL championship series I didn't think I was going to survive. I'm not the world's most avid sports fan (major understatement) but the Bosox having a shot has definitely gotten my attention big time. I can remember seeing Ted Williams play at Fenway as a kid. Lots of years of hoping. Hey, even if they lose, they've done themselves credit thus far. Actually, same goes for the Yanks. Both teams have played great ball.

Mando multitasker here- I watch Sox and play mando at the same time, cuts down on hearing the boorish announcers, and, because they run additional advertising between innings you can work on your 3 minute versions of your songs instead of the 2 minute version.
As much as any Red Sox fan wants to win, so many years of never quite getting there allows us to be satisfied as long as the Yankees lose to somebody- so last year had a happy ending.
Would I give up my mandolin to see them win?
nope.

attention to the junior league.

However I did catch the end of last nights game and while I don't like either team, I had been leaning towards rooting for the Sox just cuz I dislike the Yanks more. However, when the Yank fans started throwing stuff on the field last night, that sealed the deal. Go Sox!

Here's hoping for an all Red World Series.

In the NLCS, Mando Johnny, I'm with you and the Cards. My wife is from StL. and a fan. Better still, her grandmother, at age 100, used to kick us out of her house when the ballgame came on. With lineage like that in the family, better root for the Cards if they get to the Series as well.

I was at Berklee College of Music in 1975 when the greatest World Series set of all time was played between the Red Sox and the Cincinatti Reds. #The college dormitory is spitting distance from Fenway Park and I recall vividly the cheering as the Sox won game 6.

Since that time almost 30 years ago I've endured the collapse of 1978, the Bill Buckner incident in 1986 and a drought of 18 years to get to where we are right now. #Those others here who have endured understand this as do all who belong to Red Sox Nation.

God Bless The Spendlid Splinter

Even with the Buckner incident, the Mets should not have even made it that close. They were the best team that year that was in a slump come the WS.
-Also the cockiest where they physically beatup on the opponents. -Remember Ray Knight sliding into 3rd and Eric Davis nudged him and Knight just popped hin one? Or when a pitcher beaned a batter and Stawberry charged the mound from the dugout? Plus don't forget that they choked allowing 3 hits in a row before theBukner vaporlock. -Fate. Sox still will lose this year. It's in their blood. Who wants to bet a pac rim mando?

I hope Damon is a bust, Big unit shrivels, Jeter floundlers, Sheffield slumps, Then I will not mind so much when they keep making the back pages.

It's utterly how rediculous how much ball players get paid. Even very medioca players make 5 million a year. Like my Metzies, Carlos Beltran, lifetime .270 hitter, a solid player, but no way a superstar makes 12 million a year. Wagner who averages 90 innings a year will end up getting $100,00 per inning. And the worst they are and less they pitch they get paid more per inning. What a life. So if you catch a valuble ball hold out for $$ at all costs. I used to like this game but watching so many loosers make so much money is frustrating. doen with my ranting. A lot of nice mandos can be had for a fraction of what these clowns make.
