Real nice Doc, a luthier friend of mine uses the heart symbol in his logo and his take is that the heart symbol is the shape of two swans face to face, but again real nice, how does it sound?

That is beautiful. Is it a custom engraving? The A-style Ellis tailpieces that I have seen (including my own) are quite simple in comparison.

Yes it's a custom, on Tom E's personal mandolin and the instrument sounds great (no surprise there)

That's stunning workmanship. Purely out of interest, did Tom Ellis do the engraving himself,or did he get somebody to do it for him ?,

I believe Weldon Lister Jr did the engraving.....weldonlister.com...in the 'other' gallery you'll see work done on a Collings tailpiece

I was at Tom Ellis' shop on Monday, but, pathetically, I can't remember if he showed me this. I saw so many cool things (and took no photos) that I can't remember everything. Thanks again, Tom!

Here's one Weldon did for a client of mine several years ago.
