Does anyone have one of these?

I am thinking of getting one for my hardshell guitar case. I am wondering obviously how secure it is and how comfortable it is. Thanks.

Yup, I have one and it works just fine for my mandolin case. I believe it's the small size. Guitar seems like it would take the "large" size. Only problem - no pockets, though that might be remedied with a little creative sewing and some velcro... I use it now when carrying my mando while riding my bike. I keep it slung low so the top of the case doesn't get in the way of the back of my helmet.

i use one for my knock around/ky150s and like it alot.
actually a friend of mine's brother makes em. pretty cool product. a pocket would be cool, but the concept is, you can have the benefit of a hard case with the ease for carrying of a gig bag.
i;ve asked if he would be interested in doing a special for mandocafers, but havent heard back yet.

Where is the protection? I will stick with my Calton and not a gigbag.

Jeremy, it's not a gigbag. It's a webbing system that securely hugs your instrument so you can easily carry your hardshell case on your back.

Visit the website (linked in an early message) and you'll see the wide variety of instrument cases it can fit besides guitar.

Not only that, it looks like it can do wonders for an out-of-whack back!

I can recommend an alternative that I think looks better, protects your instrument better, has additional storage and costs less. Get a triple tennis racket case at a sporting goods store. A shaped mandolin case will fit right in it, as a case cover. They can be gotten for as little as $20 on sale. The good ones can go up $40. I use a Wilson "Triad," but it doesn't have backpack straps, which is fine with me. Other people have had good luck with the Dunlop "Bullet" which does have backpack straps.

spoke to my buddy about a discount for mandocafers and he will be joining this thread in the next day or so to offer something to all us gitfiddle folk.

I love the concept, but the price is only a little less than the Travelite case which also has backpack straps. Probably would've jumped in it otherwise.
