Word has it, that in addition to Choro Famoso, we will have Jovino Santos Netos teaching accordian (both choro and forro) at the workshop next spring. Please forward that info to any of your accordian friends who may want to come study with this world class pro, who also teaches at Cornish in Seattle. The addition of Jovino should really notch the late night jams up even further than they were last year, which, now in retrospect, were the best jams I was in all this year.

We are very close to finalizing and updating the workshop faculty, so stay tuned. (paperwork, etc...) But wanted to let any of you know that if you are planning to come, or on the fence, we are starting the planning of a Choro night at Port Townsend on WEDS. April 13th. Tim Connell and Mike Burdett (Rio Con Brio) are planning to come up a day early and play *somewhere* here in town. I'm working on a venue and might have one. Additionally, that same night, we are working on seeing about a venue for Zak Borden and his Brazillionaires to play. And my choro ensemble will probably be playing at the coffeehouse in town. If you want to play out in the clubs, let me know and I'll work at adding you to the party...without overlapping any of us (hey, we want to see each other play!).

Also, we are looking into having the town movie theater play The Sound of Rio: Brasileirnho (but not at the same time as any performances). Hoping to get the whole town excited about both coming out on Weds (usually a slow night in town) and then getting them to hear the music and come on Saturday night to the 'teachers' concert.

Also: If you are coming, while the workshop starts Thursday evening, we have a committment from Centrum to 'open' a location on the Fort for us to hang out and jam/meet/greet/etc. So if you are planning to come early, plan on being here Thursday by noon if you can't make the Weds timeslot.

more to come as it unfolds...
