This has gotta been asked here before, but since I'm new, are there any stands out there for f-style mandos? a link is fine, or any other info. I use an old metal guitar stand that I squeezed the "u" together, and just hang mine. I had to glue foam all over the metal for protection. But would like a "real" mando stand.

Thanks,

Dan

A violin stand does it pretty well with no modifications and you can get one pretty cheap either on line or at nearly any music store. If you are loking at a cheap one, try usicians Friend. You might as well be on their spam list too, everyone else is. All kidding aside they do have good prices.

The K & M violin stand from First Quality Music is quite good, just folds in half to travel. Very stable.

I think the Ingle violin music stand which retails for about $29 is excellent.
It has a soft rubber bar that clips down to secure the neck.

Ingles (Show All) SA-20 Violin/mandolin Stand
$23.95 including domestic shipping.
Comfort Cradle music/mic stand attach CC04
$12.95 including domestic shipping.
Should be able to get either stand from a reputable music dealer.

I like the Gruven folding stand - available at Elderly ($13.50), Stew-Mac, and other places. Folds flat, and I use them for all my instruments.

Been real happy with the Meisel VS-10 mandolin/ukelele/violin stand from Elderly for 21.00. Folds up small, and holds the instrument well. Good table stand.

John Monteleone makes the best stand I have even seen. Nice hardwood and hand-rubbed finish. It's not cheap, but nothing this good ever is.

I just picked up a Hercules stand thats made for electric guitars, but it holds a mandolin perfectly.

I find the wall mounted mandolin hanger the best solution to parking a mandolin, if you don't want to place it back in the case.
The mandolin is out of (harms)the way and no one is going to trip over it.
