I'm really enjoying whatever instrument it is that Tim's playing on the song Less and Less. I'll bet somebody here can tell me what it is.

Yeah, it is his Giacomel Bouzouki (more of an octave mandolin actually, but he calls it a bouzouki) - look him up in the builders, he makes crazy instruments. I had it figured out on my dad's flatiron a while back. Tim O'brien is the man, I hope they book him for Wintergrass again this year.

Is this not an absolutely great song? O'Brien is one of my very favorite players--he plays everything so expressively and appropriately. But...his best instrument may be his voice. Furthermore, he is a great songwriter. I'm not sure I can think of anyone else I would rather see in person.
