I just recently purchased Pomeroy #44, red spruce top, bone bridge top. I would like to know if there are Pomeroy owners who have compared the bone topped bridges to the ebony topped bridges and what are the thoughts one these. It sounds really good but I just wonder what it would sound like with a regular ebony topped bridge. Any input from anyone out there would be appreciated. Thanks.

David,
I'd certainly like to know what prompted your Pomeroy decision; where've you been, where'd you intended to go, does the Pomeroy deliver, etc.
Out of curiosity (MAS) I purchased his #26 A5 out of the classifieds and I'm really pleased with it. I wasn't looking for the big whallop; my BRW covers that quite well. My Old Wave oval-A does the sweet traditional thing to perfection. So I was hoping for something somewhere in between. #26 fills the gap really well.
Mine too has the bone bridge and feel no need to change it.
Is he still using those reverse tuners??

Lee957, I have considered a Pomeroy a couple times in the past but did not want to face the waiting period. As Scotti said I have been through many mandos over the last few years, before this Pomeroy I had a Rose and was very pleased, felt like I could really settle down with it but after a while my left hand started cramping so Darby bought it back from me, I cant play a slender neck I guess but I talked to the owner of #44 and he said it had some decent mass to the neck, I decided to give it another shot. #44 has been played very little and being red spruce is a little tight right now but I love it so far and it is already starting to open up a little, also so far so good on the hand cramps. The Pomeroy has great volume and has a certain quality to the tone that is hard to describe, I am very very pleased so far and yes it does have the reverse tuners on it.
