Gene Dellinger, Kestrel mandolas

Today I tried to email Gene and I got bounces from a couple of the email addrs I had
for him.

Of course, he may have chosen to block me, but I want to ask anyway, have any of you been in touch with him?

I wish him well. His mandolas are very nice.

While looking at some of the instruments Mark K. had posted on the classifieds, it reminded me of the Kestral mandola that he also let go a while back. I really wish I had jumped on that one. Hope Gene is still building those beautiful instruments.

Wow, I do miss Gene. An intense and passionate and talented guy, and what beautiful instruments, indeed, he is building. If I had any occasion to play a mandola, I would certainly have kept that one. I think the vagaries and vicissitudes of the public were a bit too much for Gene at times and that he has maybe retreated into privacy. I hope that he is content and that he is continuing to bring his playable art to the world...
