Would someone be able to kindly tell me what the scale length of a Gibson mandola becomes when it is capoed at the second fret for DAEB tuning? Thanks!

Just under 14" - similar to a mandolin scale length.

Thanks, Eddie. The reason I wanted to know is that I was considering buying a mandobird as my first (and probably only) non acoustic instrument and want to use it as a sort of dola, open tuned DAEB. Thanks again!

As a suggestion only, you can changed the strings to med. gauze mandolin ones and tune the mandola to DAEB and forget about the capo.
That tuning works well for traditional Irish music without a capo as most TIM tunes do not go below the low D.

Multiply the scale length by .9438 to get the distance from the bridge to the first fret.
Take that figure and multiply it by .9438 to get the distance from the bridge to the 2nd fret.
The scale length on the Gibson is probably 15.5"
15.5" x .9438 = 14.6289"
14.6289" x .9438 = 13.8067"
