Greetings,

Once again I'm back seeking opinions and everyone here is so good at giving them...tee hee. I am looking for a light weight amp for my mando and dobro (I also play electric guitar in my band and I am trying add as little bulk as possible). I have read great things about both the Roland AC-60 and the Ultrasound 50s. Any opinions on how they comapare. I know the effects are probably superior on the Roland, but honestly I'll use a small about of reverb and nothing else. I am really much more interested in the amp's ability to reproduce an acoustic sound.
Thanks is advance....I love this board :-)

Actually the Ultrasound amps have a very good set built-in effects on an Alesis chip. Some of the different sized room effects are excellent.

I really like the Ultrasound's ability to sound natural. I use one with a Schertler on both mandos and guitars. I don't know what the price differential vs the Rowland is, but the Ultrasound definitely sounds natural, is light, and has provisions for DI outs and additional cabinets. Also their customer support is very good. They only do one thing, so they really try to do it right.
