I'm a mandolin picker who also plays a guitar. The neck finish on my Martin guitar became gummy and sticky. I understand that Martin will not warranty finish work. The guitar is 10yr old. What should a neck refinish job cost on a guitar.
Appreciate any advise you can provide.

What wood is the neck? Is it stained? Do you know what finish was already on there? Varnish? Lacquer? Glossy? Matte?

Dont know for sure the answers but suspect it was lacquer. It was not real glossy so think it would be matte.
I been told that Martin uses lacquer on most of their high end guitars.
This is a HD-D35
Thanks for ur come back

It's lacquer. It's likely to be a $150-200 kind of job.

We are a Martin repair station, PM me if you can't find someone closer. (Savannah GA)
