for those interested, a charango group has been set-up on the yahoo groups site. the members so far are myself and the man who set it up.

as most sites connected to the charango are in spanish, it might be a useful place to exchange information in english on luthiers, different styles of play and tuning, musicians recording with the charango and where to find strings, amplification advise, spare cases, etc..

Well, if this Yahoo group ever touches upon mandolin, mandolino, or vihuela de mano, I might have a little something to add. #Unfortunately, I really know next to nothing of the charango (other than it sounds pretty cool). #Still, as I've said elsewhere, I do hope this proves fun and insightful to you and the other guy...and hopefully a good many others who do know something of charango.

should you aquire one of these sweet little vihuelas from south america, you will be more than welcome ... no matter what quaint 'n colorful, colonial name you may adopt for your instrument when you come to call.
