Hello Canadian Television Viewers / Mando Pickers
Toronto mandolin picker Andrew Collins is going to be featured in a documentary tonight Tuesday September 28, 2004 on Bravo! #@ 7:30 PM. #It is called "I'll Fly Away Home". #It is an absorbing look at the recent resurgence in the popularity of bluegrass with modern performers. Features music from Andrew's Bands The Creaking Tree String Quartet and The Foggy Hogtown Boys, and others such as Bill Monroe.

Hey Jason
I have to admit that I didn't see it. #I don't have cable, so we don't get Bravo. #I would have love to see it, but from what i heard it wasn't the best show in the world. #It feature all of the local Toronto roots musicians, including the Foggy Hogtown BOys, the Creaking Tree, Crazy Strings etc. Andrew and the Creaking Tree are down at IBMA this week. #They are playing the Fanfest portion of the show. #Andrew was really excited about it. #They just finished their new album in time to sell in Kentucky. #Hopefully they go over well. I heard the new album a few months ago, but not the final mix that was done by Todd Phillips. #I will post a review once I get my own copy that I can study. #Andrew does makes use of his new mandola, and the mandocello on this album, so I am definatley looking forward to getting my copy. #Anyways Jason, hope all is well in the south. #Things are great here right now, nice weather and the leaves are in full colour. #Without a quesiton the nicest time of year. #Hope you have a nice Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. # By the way, I checked out your mando on the photo page. Very nice. #Talk to you soon
Craig

I got to hear the CTSQ at IBMA in the Proulx Guitar suite, and would like to tell you they are very interesting, polished, accomplished, and NOT bluegrass. I found them to be a refreshing change of pace after many hours of the music one would expect to find at IBMA. I look forward to seeing them at some of the more ecclectic festivals like Strawberry in California. We can hope.
