Iīd like to ask if anybody here knows where I could possibly find the sheet music for Jacob do Bandolimīs "Diabinho Maluco". I couldnīt find this one, yet, and I have a strong desire to learn it.
I could learn it by ear, but sheet music makes life much easier.
Maybe, if somebody has it in his collection and could send it to me, Iīd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance

One very nice example of this tune:

Hi Michael,

It's in "The White Book," formally known as "Choro Songbook Vol 1" published by Chediak. The Songbook is kind of a big commitment to buy just for one tune, but it's also highly recommended, and everyone with an enduring interest in choro should eventually have it anyway.

We also worked on "Diabinho Maluco" as part of the Port Townsend Choro Workshop, working off of a lead sheet that was produced by Andy Connell and Mike Marshall. You might ping Andy to find out whether he'd be willing to release a copy.

Thanks, btw, for all those great video links you just posted. Fantastic stuff!

Thanks for the hint, Doug. I discovered that I can buy this Choro Songbook here in Germany. Though I already have some good choro books this one makes still sense, since it contains many tunes that I donīt have.

The White Book is well worth the price. Excellent transcriptions, plus a huge array of other tunes. I usually end up using it instead of Mike's book,if there is a choice. For example, it's a much better version of "Receita de samba" including the correct intro.

Thanks very much for all your help, that was great. Iīve already learned the tune in the meantime and itīs huge fun to play it.
And thanks for your hints to the choro songbook. Iīve ordered it today and it will be a good addition to what I already have.

Great job, Michael! Both of you have good facility and a really nice feel. You've come a long way from the first videos you posted. Good sound too-- I think it's the first time I've heard your bandolim. If I remember right, it's Swiss?

It's be great to do this with pandeiro as well-- any players around Kassel?

Thanks very much for your positive feedback.
Yes Bruce, thatīs my Bandolim from Switzerland (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?52548-Bandolim-from-Switzerland). It turned out that I really like it and itīs much more fun for playing choro than my A5. It became my main mandolin, also for irish, breton and balkan tunes. The archtops are in their cases most of the time.

Youīre right about the pandeiro and we have at least one good player here, but heīs not available in the moment. We even have a Clube de Choro and a Roda now here in Kassel, founded by two brothers from Sao Paulo (7string guitar + clarinet/bandolim), who are very good players. As far as I know this is the only roda in Germany, the next one is in Paris:). Great opportunity to learn and get some insights into the world of Choro from them.
