I heard this tune the other night on the Grateful Dead XM station. It was a mandolin solo by Jerry Garcia that was really cool. Anyone know anything about this version? Or a similar mandolin one?

Are you sure it wasn't Jerry and Dawg? They released a cd under that same title.

The earliest recorded version I can think of was by a banjo playing singer name of Justis Begley. I believe Grandpa Jones also had a popular recording of it. Mike Seeger recorded a great version too.

Yep, I'm pretty sure that's it. Right after I posted this, I did a search on Amazon and found it. The sample is only 30 sec. and there's not much mando on it, but I think it is what I heard on the radio. Thanks.
