I need a Kalamazoo tuning post and worm gear, A style.

Hey, I just bought a A style Kalamazoo '36-43 (just started playing for that matter) and it is missing a tuner post and worm gear.... does anyone happen to have an old Kalamazoo around or at least the needed parts? I have paypal and would be happy to pay for the parts..... every thing else on it is in great shape and don't really want or need to go through the process of replacing the whole tuning machine.

Nathan, this belongs in the Wanted section of the classifieds. They are free. Post a picture of the back of your mandolin's headstock in the add so that people can see what the tuners look like. Beyond that, if there is an older established musical instrument repair shop in your area you might want to take it to them. Most of these guys save old parts in the event that someone comes in with a problem like yours.

OK thanks.... new here as you could tell by my post count :) K.... I'll try and get some pic's posted later.... I've got a guy who repairs instruments (the guy I'm taking lessons from) looking for one, he's looked through his stuff and at 2 shops and hasn't found one yet.... so... the search continues

Post the wanted ad with the picture of the tuners, you might find an entire tuner set. Those tuners weren't unique to the instrument.
