Who here has scoop on Large fret wire and mandolins? I know I love the big 6100 type on my Telecaster, good for bends, and I like the feel, so would the same be true for a Mandolin? I know a Mando is more delicate of an instrument and such, but my Gibson 99' A5-L needs a refret soon, and was just wondering if I should swap out the old for a totally different size....thanks, dy.

You can use larger wire, I wouldn't go 6100.

Larger wire starts pointing out intonation problems you'd never notice (as much) with small wire.. depending on what you have now, 6100 could be 3x as big.. whoa.

Go medium.
