First, my apologies if this is a duplicate or triplicate request, but I tried a search and didn't turn up anything related to this.

Does anyone sell mando/CBOM tailpieces for ball-end strings? I've read that some CBOMs come with such tailpieces, but I can't seem find them as separate items for sale. I've got a Flatiron OM (4 courses) on which I'd like to use ball end strings for greater gauge variety without spending the money for individually packaged strings -- that is, I'd like to buy them in bulk, and it's hard to find bulk loop-end strings that are long enough. I know I can convert ball-end strings, but the loops are very small, and it seems like it would be a lot easier to just replace the tailpiece.

Thanks!

Although I'm not sure they were made specifically for ball end strings, I use ballends with my Weber tailpiece and have used them with Allen tailpieces.

If I were going to buy one now, I would go with the Allen because I like its looks better. He has several types of tailpieces so you might want to ask him if ballends will work with the specific tailpiece you are considering.

On both these, the ballends fit kind of tight side-by-side but they do work nicely.

Here's one from Phil Crump, mentioned in another thread. It can handle ball-end or loops.

Thanks for all the feedback. I found the page for the Allen tailpieces, and they look great, but I'm also intrigued by the others, especialy the Kennaquhair design. It looks like it might even be possible to make one a tailpiece; I don't think it would look as nice as these, but it's a thought.

Thanks again!
